A: Generally, most travel assignments with Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. are 13 weeks in length, but assignments may vary according to the needs of the client. It may be 8 weeks or as long as 26 weeks or up to a 1 year contract. We also hire staff for per diem for daily staffing for as short as a day, week, or month.

Q: Am I obligated to work for more than the initial contract, a certain number of contracts?

A: No, you are not obligated to work beyond the agreed initial contract. After the initial contract you are free to do whatever you like.

Q: Do facilities offer extensions beyond the agreed assignment with Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc.?

A: Yes, very often we receive requests by the facility but we always make sure your comfortable with the extension and you agree upon the length and dates of the extension.

Q: Can I depend on Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. to keep me working after my initial contract?

A: Absolutely, Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. has hundreds of openings weekly across the country and we will work hard to give work as long as you desire.

Q: How much time do I need to notify Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. before I would like to begin a contract?

A: As soon as you decide to travel, let us know so we can start working on paperwork or location you are interested in working. Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. is dedicated to providing all our travelers locations that is nearest to where they want to be. We also can keep you in the system and contact you when your available date is getting closer.

Q: If I require housing, do I get the opportunity to choose the place I would like to stay?

A: Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. will do everything we can do meet your needs and we want your help is choosing the place. Many of our travelers find places they would like to stay, but our experience in finding quality housing that is safe and beautiful is our #1 goal.

Q: If I have another traveler interested in staying with me, can we stay in the place?

A: Many of Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. professionals have stayed together while they travel together so it gives them someone to enjoy the experience of traveling. We usually can accommodate their requests and at the same time give extra money to enjoy the surrounding area.

Q: If there is an assignment in a state that I do not have a license for, will I be reimbursed for the license?

A: Yes, Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. will reimburse you on your first check 100% for the license.

Q: What is the “tax-advantage” plan and how do I qualify for it?

A: The “tax-advantage” plan is a plan that was set up by the federal government (IRS) to give a tax-break to traveling professionals, such as our traveling professionals, reimbursements for housing/lodging and meals and incidental expenses. Our professionals qualify for these “tax-free” reimbursements, if they are working more than 50 miles from their permanent residence.

Q: Can I bring my pet(s) along with me if I am staying in the housing provided by the company?

A: Yes, Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. does everything possible to accommodate any pet(s) that you may want to bring with you. In most cases our housing team can find a very comfortable, safe apartment or condo that allows pet(s). You will notified in advance of the cost in reference to the deposits for pet(s).

Q: I have another medical professional that is interested in traveling with Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc., is there a referral bonus?

A: Yes, we have a very generous bonus program we offer all our medical professionals. Our bonus varies depending on how long your referral stays with us. For each assignment they complete you receive a bonus check. We depend on referrals from our current staff for most of our leads on perspective employees. Q: Do you provide permanent placement?

A: Yes, please contact Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. for more information regarding employees converting from a temporary assignment to permanent placement.

Q: Do you cover malpractice insurance for all your contractors?

A: Yes, we cover all professional liability insurance on all Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. contractors. Our goal is to protect not only our employees but the clients we serve as well.

Q: How often does Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. bill each client?

A: Our billing is processed weekly. We send a copy of our timesheets and a copy of the invoice together for accuracy.

Q: What is the corrective process for an employee that may not be performing up to the standards or the level of need?

A: Shamrock Medical Staffing, Inc. is determined to meet the needs of all our clients. We will counsel our employee immediately to solve any issue that a client may have during their assignment. The client will be notified that the contractor has been counseled and assured that the issues were addressed. In any case, we will make sure we are working on a replacement in the event one is required.

A: Yes, we run all background checks on all of our employees and provide them during the initial information sent when a contract is being set up.
